Dr Crystal Wyllie of an online medical service linked the surge in demand to recent price rises for authorized slimming medications such as Mounjaro. “With costs increasing, patients are turning to social media. But fake treatments are highly risky. You can’t be certain what’s inside or whether the conditions they were made in was clean,” she explained.
Her team has already encountered patients injured by personal administration from unverified suppliers. “We recognize the disappointment, but purchasing from messaging apps or communication platforms is gambling with your well-being,” stated Wyllie. “These substances could be impure or improperly measured.”
